Overview

Markdown Live Editor is a local browser extension for writing, previewing, saving, and exporting Markdown documents. The extension is designed to work locally in your browser.

Data Collection

Markdown Live Editor does not collect, sell, transmit, or share personal information. The extension does not use analytics, tracking pixels, ads, or remote telemetry.

Local Data

The extension may store the following data locally in your browser:

• Draft Markdown content for local recovery.
• Editor layout preference, such as split pane width.
• Theme and interface language preferences.

This data remains on your device and is not uploaded by the extension. You can remove it by clearing the browser storage for the extension.

File Access

When you open, save, or export files, those actions are initiated by you through browser-provided file dialogs or the browser print dialog. The extension only uses the selected files to provide editing and saving features.

PDF Export

PDF export uses the browser print dialog. The extension prepares the preview content for printing, and the browser handles PDF creation.

Third-Party Sharing

Markdown Live Editor does not share your content or personal information with third parties.

Remote Servers

The extension does not require a remote server to edit Markdown. If you insert external image URLs or links into your document, those resources may be requested by the browser when the preview displays them.
